What do I need to tow a Hire Caravan?
Your car needs to be within the towing and tow ball capacity limits to legally and safely tow a caravan. Each caravan listed identifies those specifications.
Electric Brakes: What do I need?
All our hire caravans are equipped with electric brakes. Ideally your car should be fitted with an approved electronic brake controller for the flat 12 pin plug. Adapters are available if you have 7 pin trailer plug. If your car does not have a controller, we can supply a portable brake controller. A hire fee of $70 is applicable. See caravan wiring diagram here – 12_pin-wiring-V2-.pdf
Can I use the fridge when on the road?
Vans are fitted with 3 way fridges for 12v, 240v and gas. Your car needs to be fitted with a 12v Anderson Plug if you need to run the fridge whilst driving. Gas can only be used when stationary.
Can the van be used at non-powered sites?
Yes for short periods. The van gets all its power from its house battery which is only recharged when plugged into 240v. We can supply a 2.6Kva portable generator for a hire fee of $250 per week if required.
